Reiki Courses

You can learn how to use Reiki for yourself and to help others, regardless of your background, and no special skills are required. I offer one-to-one Reiki courses at all levels to support you on your own personal journey.

The emphasis is on learning how to use Reiki in your daily life, to help you and your loved ones. I can train you to work as a Reiki Practitioner if you want to go along that path, and on to the Master training.

There are three course levels, which can be seen as a Reiki journey. You can go as far as you want, at whatever pace is right for you. You are welcome to ask questions and seek clarification at any time along the way.

All courses are held in my home therapy room in the countryside just outside Muir of Ord.

~ The style of Reiki I teach is USUI/HOLY FIRE® III Reiki ~

Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki is a new system first introduced in 2014 by William Rand at the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) in the USA, combining Usui Reiki with Holy Fire® Reiki. It has developed in several stages since then, and now uses a guided meditation method to empower your connection to the Reiki energy. You don't need to have any meditation experience, and you will receive whatever you need at the time.

At Reiki One and Two levels you learn the traditional Japanese Usui Reiki system, and I use the Holy Fire® meditation method to empower your connection to the Reiki energy. I teach from the Japanese perspective of the body's energy system, with the emphasis on the tanden (or hara) energy centre in the belly, not from the Indian perspective of the chakra system.

At Reiki Three level we follow the Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master programme from the ICRT, with additional practices from the Japanese tradition.

The word 'holy' in this context means to be whole and complete, and is not meant in a religious context.

Course Content

REIKI ONE - FOUNDATION COURSE (Shoden)
3 x half days (around 3½ hours each day)
Days 1 & 2 are usually done together and day 3 a few days later, but all 3 days can be taken together if you prefer
Course fee £180

This is the Foundation course and it may be the only one you want to take. The emphasis is on self-healing and laying the foundations for regular personal practice with Reiki. It also enables you to give treatments to your family and friends.

We use the First Degree (Shoden) course manual written by Taggart King at Reiki Evolution, and you will receive your manual in advance so you can read though it in preparation.

The course content includes -

The Reiki One empowerment
(known as a placement in Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki).
A look at the history of Reiki and its development.
The Reiki Precepts (Mikao Usui's simple guidelines for living).
The Japanese 'Hatsurei Ho' energy exercise.
Practise sensing and feeling energy, and an introduction to scanning the body.
How to give yourself Reiki (in a meditation and a hands-on self-treatment).
How to give Reiki to your family, friends and pets (preparing yourself, hand positions for a treatment, and first-aid situations).
How to energise your food, drinks and plants.
During the course you will give and receive a Reiki treatment, as well as practising the various techniques with me as we go along.

You will receive your certificate to show you have completed the Reiki One training and a copy of your Reiki "lineage" back to Mikao Usui.

I offer regular follow-ups and further empowerments after the course at no extra cost, and if there's ever anything you're unsure about you can just ask.

REIKI TWO - PRACTITIONER COURSE (Okuden)
3 x half days (around 3½ hours each day)
Days 1 & 2 are usually done together and day 3 a few days later, but all 3 days can be taken together if you prefer
Course fee £220

This level develops your practice with Reiki further, and introduces the Reiki symbols and 'distance' energy work. It enables you to give Reiki treatments to members of the public if you wish.

We use the Second Degree (Okuden) course manual written by Taggart King at Reiki Evolution, and you will receive your manual in advance so you can read through it in preparation.

The course content includes -

The Reiki Two empowerment
(known as a placement in Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki).
The three symbols and their mantras, and various ways to use them.
A meditation on the symbols to help you feel the difference between the energies.
How to work intuitively using the Japanese 'Reiji Ho' approach, and another look at scanning the body.
How to do 'distance' treatments.
Space clearing, empowering goals and other ways to use Reiki.
Working as a Reiki Practitioner - what you need to know to set up your practice.
During the course you will give and receive a Reiki treatment, as well as practising the various techniques with me as we go along.

After the course you are asked to do some practice to help consolidate what you learn on the course, and you can do this in whatever timeframe you wish. As soon as you have done the practice you will receive your certificate to show you have completed the Reiki Two training.

REIKI THREE - MASTER COURSE
6 x half days (around 3½ hours each day)
Days 1, 2 & 3 are usually done together and Days 4, 5 & 6
a week or so later (or longer if you prefer)
Course fee £480

This course continues your personal journey of self-healing and spiritual development, and enables you to teach Reiki to others if you wish.

I teach this course according to the Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master course programme from the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT). We use the course manual written by William Lee Rand and issued by the ICRT. I also include additional practices from the Japanese tradition.
